Using the website and product
These terms govern your use of the FocusBae website, products and services. By using them, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. The published Mac release requirements and known limitations are on the download page. Development previews and sample walkthroughs are not guarantees of released capabilities.
The free local product
The local core is free, including notes, recording, supported on-device processing, reviewed actions, People, search and note export. No account or subscription is required for local work. Feature availability depends on the published release requirements, installed models and device capabilities.
Accounts and future paid services
Connect, including sync, browser access and hosted recovery, is planned and is not offered for purchase here. Pricing, limits, renewal, cancellation and remote retention terms will be provided before checkout is offered. Ending a future paid plan will not disable the free local core.
If you use an existing online account, provide accurate information and keep its credentials secure. Existing purchases remain subject to the terms agreed at purchase; this product redesign does not change an existing payment agreement. See refunds and cancellations.
Your content and responsibilities
Your notes, recordings and other content remain yours. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to record, import or use that content. Respect participants’ privacy and applicable recording requirements. Keep appropriate backups of work you want to preserve.
Transcripts, speaker labels and suggested actions can be inaccurate. Review them before relying on them. FocusBae does not send messages or complete your commitments on your behalf.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service, distribute malware, infringe others’ rights, interfere with operations or attempt unauthorized access to accounts or systems.
Software and third-party rights
FocusBae and its licensors retain rights in the software, website and branding. The desktop app's source code is open source under the MIT License at github.com/focusbae/focusbae; that license governs your use of the code. The FocusBae name and logo are not licensed for reuse. Third-party components and models remain subject to their applicable licenses; nothing here limits rights those licenses grant.
Privacy and service access
Our privacy notice describes the local workspace, website measurements and optional network activity. We may suspend online accounts for violations of these terms or other legitimate reasons. Local work does not require an online account.
Availability and liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, FocusBae disclaims warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, with disputes subject to courts in India, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Updates will be posted here with a revised date. Where required, additional notice or agreement will be provided.
