FocusBae turns a recording into notes and suggested action items. Only the person who recorded sees the suggestions until they review them.

Choose who sees a meeting’s action items: only you, or one of your teams. Everyone sees what they owe and what they are waiting on, with the sentence it came from, and can mark their own done from anywhere.

Pages organised by team.
Each team has its own pages, in folders up to eight levels deep. Move a page between teams, or keep it in My notes until it’s ready.
Links that keep context.
Link pages with [[double brackets]] and see backlinks. A link to a page a reader can’t open stays visible but locked, so nothing private leaks through a link.
A page for every person.
Open a teammate or client to see what they owe, what is owed to them, your meetings with them and the pages that mention them.
Comments, files and guests.
Comment on a page, attach files up to 50 MB, and share a page with another team or a guest from outside the company, to view and comment.
One writer per page, for now.
The author edits a page; teammates read and comment. When an author leaves, an admin can hand their pages to someone else. Editing together comes later.

PROCESSING LEVELS
The workspace decides.
Each recording shows it.
1 · On the Mac
The default. Transcription and AI run on each person’s Mac. Only team pages and accepted action items leave it.
2 · Cloud AI
Transcript text goes to OpenAI to find action items. Our service passes it on without storing it, and asks OpenAI not to store it.
3 · Cloud transcription
Audio goes from the Mac straight to Deepgram for transcription, with a short-lived key, then follows level 2.
If a cloud service is unavailable, the Mac falls back to on-device processing and says so on the recording.
FOR OWNERS AND ADMINS
Clear rules.
Set once.
Choose the processing level.
Owners and admins set the highest level for the workspace. Members can always choose a lower one for a recording, and every recording shows where it was processed.
Decide who can join.
Allow guests from anywhere, only from approved email domains, or not at all. Choose whether only admins or any member can invite.
Handle people leaving.
A leaver’s private notes stay private and are deleted after 30 days. Their team pages stay with the team, and an admin can hand them to someone else.
Keep a Mac tidy.
Signing out on a Mac removes teammates’ pages from it and keeps the person’s own work. Strict Local mode still blocks every network request.

Can my team use it today?
FocusBae for teams is in a pilot with a small number of teams. Write to us and we’ll set you up. It needs FocusBae for Mac with team support, which comes with the next Mac release.
What does it cost?
Nothing during the pilot. We plan one paid plan per person, with teams included. We’ll publish the price and terms before anyone is charged. The local Mac app stays free.
Does anything change for people without a team?
No. FocusBae on your Mac works exactly as before, with no account. The team service is used only after you connect a team workspace in Settings.
Which devices are supported?
Recording happens in FocusBae for Mac on Apple Silicon. Pages, people and action items are also available in a web browser. Windows and mobile apps aren’t available.
Can two people edit the same page?
Not yet. Each page has one author who edits it; teammates read and comment, on the web or on their Macs. Editing together is planned for later.
Does a bot join our meetings?
No. The person recording chooses the microphone, system audio or both on their Mac. Ask participants before recording.
