RELEASE NOTES
A new chapter. On your Mac.
What’s included, and what still needs care.
FocusBae 1.3.3 — local first.
New in 1.3.3: paste a screenshot or drag an image into a note and it appears in the page. Other files, including PDFs, documents, audio and video, attach as cards you open in Quick Look. Files stay on your Mac, up to 100 MB each, and are included in backups and Markdown exports.
Also in 1.3.3: “Find commitments” on a page no longer freezes your notes while it reads, and works on longer pages. The notes list now shows the start of each page instead of “Empty page”, and pasting from the web no longer shows import warnings.
In 1.3.2: recording with “Microphone + system audio” stopped within seconds in earlier releases, so the other side of a call was never captured. It now records both. The first time, macOS asks for System Audio Recording permission. On earphones, choose this option: the microphone hears you and system audio hears everyone else.
In 1.3.1: Settings can check for a newer signed Mac release when you ask. Downloading and restarting to install each require your confirmation. Strict Local mode blocks update checks and downloads. Automatic background updates are not enabled.
Notes, links, meetings and the actions you choose to keep, together on your Mac. No account or subscription is needed for the local workflow.
Also included
- Notes with folders, links, Markdown import and export, People and local search.

- A quieter notebook with a single workspace switcher, cleaner page tabs and an option to hide the page list while writing.
- Names for recordings and an option to keep FocusBae in the menu bar without a Dock icon.
- Meeting recording with supported on-device transcription and reviewed action suggestions.
- Optional retained audio and playback, PCM WAV import/export, and storage controls.
- Workspace backup and restore. Keep a backup outside your Mac.
- Optional clipboard history, off by default and kept in memory rather than saved to disk.
- A refreshed workspace and the new FocusBae mark.
Requirements and known limitations
- Apple Silicon, macOS 26 or later.
- Apple Intelligence is needed for Apple Foundation Models. Model downloads require approval.
- Review generated text and speaker labels. English is the first focus; Hindi and mixed speech remain experimental.
- Apple Notes libraries over 500 notes cannot yet be imported in one pass; complex formatting may be simplified. The original note stays in Apple Notes.
- Long live calls, Bluetooth routing and sleep/wake recovery need broader real-device testing. Test your audio setup with a short recording first.
Sync, browser workspace access and paid Connect remain planned. The desktop source is not public.
